when to call

It is advisable to contact us as soon as possible after a death occurs in the family. We will then give you our full support and can also advise and assist you with the funeral arrangements.

When a natural death occurs in the home, nursing home, or hospital, it is a simple matter for the funeral director to obtain a Medical Certificate from a doctor to allow transfer of the deceased person to take place.

However, when a sudden death occurs, or when a doctor is unable to issue a Death Certificate, the transfer cannot take place until the Police are notified. In this case the Police arrange for the deceased person to be transferred by the Government Undertaker, to the appropriate mortuary, to establish the cause of death. The Coroner will then issue an order for burial or cremation when investigations are complete.

Regardless of the circumstances, it is important that we be contacted as soon as possible. Our services are available all hours, every day of the year on (07) 4054 5400.
